Trump administration’s promise of “one million” coronavirus test kits turns out to be empty words… why can’t the USA test people like South Korea does?

The Trump administration made a lofty promise the other day to deliver about a million new tests for the Wuhan coronavirus (CoVid-19) by the end of the week, despite ongoing shortages. And as to be expected, there was just one glaring problem: It wasn’t actually feasible to accomplish this in real life, thus it never happened.

With a mere fraction of this promised capacity coming to fruition, many were critical of the White House in response, including abortion-loving New York Governor Andrew “infanticide” Cuomo, who blasted President Trump for failing to deliver.

“I don’t understand CDC’s instructions,” Cuomo told reporters. “They say anyone can get tested if they want … but Pence says we don’t have enough tests. How can you bring in more people into the pipeline than you can address at the end of the pipeline?”

“This is not only bad government and poor planning, it will increase the fear,” he added.

Cuomo’s statements came just hours after National Institutes of Health (NIH) head Dr. Anthony Fauci made his own announcement about how Trump’s promise of massively increased testing for the Wuhan coronavirus (CoVid-19) probably wasn’t going to be possible, despite how great it sounded as a talking point.

“I can’t guarantee that, that’s an issue that would have to go through the FDA and the companies to see if that’s available,” he stated. “So, I cannot promise it but that’s what the goal is – within the next couple of weeks – to get the million plus [out].”

Because the White House continues to reject the notion that it might have made a mistake with its one million tests promise, Americans remain largely in the dark about what to expect when they go in to try to get tested, only to be told that they can’t.

“Their position is absurd and nonsensical,” Cuomo chided about the administration’s rhetoric. “I think the anxiety and the fear is a bigger problem than the virus.”

Why aren’t the CDC and FDA approving private lab testing for coronavirus?

As much of a slime bag as he truly is, Cuomo was correct in further pointing out that the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) and the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) have been exceptionally slow in approving the use of private labs for coronavirus testing. These agencies also have yet to give New York State’s Wadsworth Lab and the NYC Public-Health Lab similar permission to test for the novel virus.

The whole thing is a giant bungle at this point, illustrating once again the utter lack of competence within, and congruence between, both federal and state governments. There are plenty of private companies waiting to test for the Wuhan coronavirus (CoVid-19), including a lab in North Carolina that says it created a quick 15-minute test, but they’re simply not allowed to proceed without a government green light.

“The vice president was absolutely correct: There has been a delay and we didn’t have enough right now but, hopefully, in the near future hopefully we will,” Fauci added in a statement.

“I’m not happy about the lack of the appropriate number of test kits – that’s for sure – but other areas of the response, I think, are going well,” he added.

VP Pence further promised that there will now be 100 percent screening at all airports with direct flights coming in from both Italy and South Korea. But VICE producer Julia Lindau, who recently landed at John F. Kennedy International Airport in New York from a trip to Italy, says that didn’t happen when she was there, at least.
